There is a quiz on Friday on biochemistry. There are extra copies of the study guide downloadable in the biochem tab at left.
Also, the Organic Molecules Reading and Review Packet is also available there for download.
I gave back the vocab quizzes, and gave some good pointers to help you learn vocabulary (which is SO important in biology)
Here is a summary of those pointers:
- Do a little at a time, early. 15 minutes/day for four days is better than one hour the night before a quiz!
- Try different methods on Quizlet.com - space race, flashcards, etc.
- Write out and make your own paper flashcards. The simple act of writing helps your brain learn the information.
- Look at vocab terms at the start of a unit, so you can listen for them during class discussions and activities. Vocab for the entire YEAR is already in each unit tab at left - feel free to look at them from the start of each unit!!!
Multiple choice strategies might also help you on other quizzes/test:
(All these tips are posted in General information as of now)
- Read the question first and form an answer in your mind.
- Read ALL the options before making a choice.
- Carefully consider when one answer says "Both A and C"
- Eliminate choices through the process of elimination.
- If you're having trouble, mark the question to come back to.
- Don't leave blank answers - you have a 25% random chance!
If you're still looking for more strategies, then feel free to come chat with me.
Tomorrow we're studying in class together, and I am also available Thursday after school for review time.
Good luck, and email me with questions!
