Steps to Get Ready for (any) Exams:
- Organize your binder and find handouts on all the topics - keep them in one place.
- Use old study guides which list important handouts to find during your organization.
- Skim the review packet (downloadable link below) to highlight unfamiliar terms/topics.
- Write notes next to or define vocab words to review their meaning.
- Answer any questions you find, marking the ones you need to come back to later.
- DO NOT attempt to tackle this study guide without your BINDER and BOOK open next to you for reference. Allow yourself to look things up - that's called STUDYING after all!
- Bring questions to me during class. Go on, I dare you to stump me.
- Make flashcards, quiz a friend, ask a friend to quiz you, divide the work, etc. Whatever works for you, try it!
- Utilize FLEX BLOCK and TUESDAY OFFICE HOURS in the weeks prior to exams.
Exam Information
Exam Format: The exam will be mostly multiple choice format. These questions will include true/false, matching, analogies, diagrams and regular style multiple choice questions. The rest of the exam is an open response section that has some short answer questions requiring you to describe a concept or explain a topic. Bring a pencil for the scantron sheet.
Testing Policies: You will have two hours to complete the exam. School policy does not permit you to leave before the exam period is over. Therefore, bring a book or other study materials.
You must ask for permission to use electronics after you have completed the exam, as they may not be allowed due to testing circumstances.
At the end of the year, bring your textbook to return. Make sure you have YOUR textbook, with the correct number. If you do not, there will be a hold on your records for the book.
